Trafford Pledge: ‘How we work together’

The three core principles of Respect, Decency and Responsibility will underpin our actions to create Sustainable, Cohesive Communities

Active, engaged and skilled citizens are vital in creating a place where people want to live and work, that is safe and fosters a sense of belonging, offers equality of opportunity for all to get involved. Community cohesion is about relationships between, and within, communities

The Trafford Community agree to work together to:

Achieve stronger, more inclusive and tolerant communities where active healthier citizens live and have access to the full range of opportunities to improve their future prospects and the well-being of our communities

Enhance the relationship between local communities and businesses, share information and work constructively on the principles of respect, decency and responsibility

Work altogether as individuals, communities, statutory partners, voluntary organisations, Schools, Colleges and businesses to strengthen and raise the levels of social inclusion and community cohesion

Make a difference to their local neighbourhood through problem solving, taking ownership of issues, volunteering, fostering trust and encouraging more widespread involvement in community activities

Eliminate unlawful behaviour and prevent anti-social behaviour and Hate Crime

Promote positive behaviours and respect for each other

Support action to make Trafford a healthy, safe place to live with a good quality of life; in an excellent environment; with an active community so Trafford continues to be a desirable place to live, learn, work and relax

Encourage participation and sharing of expertise, promoting learning and development and working together to support each other through better links between individuals and organised groups

Support community leaders to promote and realise the ambitions of our community
