Old Trafford has been selected as one of only a handful of venues outside of London to be hosting matches in the Olympic Football competition. Countries from all over the world will take part in a total of nine matches at the stadium, including quarter-final and semi-final games. TeamGB men's team will play their first match at Old Trafford on the 26 July 2012.
In addition, Partington Sports Village will be used as a Games-Time Training Venue for those playing at Old Trafford, and George Carnell Leisure Centre will play host to the Brazilian Paralympic Judo team.
Plans are in place to make sure the Trafford community fully benefits from the legacy of the Games, and we are working in partnership with other local agencies to inspire people to join in the excitement of the Olympic and Paralympic Games through physical activity, volunteering and cultural activities.
