Council Property Register

Land Records

The terrier section maintains map and paper records of all land and buildings owned by the Council. We provide advice on the following topics:

  • Privately-owned property
  • Highway ownership
  • Boundary disputes

Please note

The service which you are seeking from the Council may be available whether or not the land or building is actually owned by the Council.

For example, dealing with Abandoned Vehicles, Fly-tipping, Dangerous Structures, etc. In order for your request to be dealt with more directly by the Council, please reconsider whether the ownership of the land is critical to your enquiry.

Community Buildings

There are 14 Council-owned community centres and public halls across the Borough. Certain buildings are run and managed by the Council and others are leased to Community Associations which receive grant aid. These buildings provide a focal point for local community activities and learning opportunities, are great resources for bringing local people together. Local residents are encouraged to make use of these buildings, which are well located, have rooms for hire and are easily accessible. Community buildings are used by people of all ages for a variety of uses, which include organising social functions such as weddings, parties, workshops, meetings and they also act as a base for local community groups.
