Consumer Advice
Our Trading Standards Team are part of a national network which provides first contact advice through the Consumer Direct Service.
Consumer Direct is a telephone and online consumer advice service, which is supported by local authorities in the North West and funded by the Department of Trade and Industry.
Trained advisers provide clear practical advice on all kinds of consumer issues from faulty goods to dealing with unsatisfactory services, from guarantees to finding out whether you can cancel a contract for goods or services. Additionally, if you are aware of a scam or a business acting unfairly or illegally, report your concerns.
To contact Consumer Direct you can:
- Call the advice line on 08454 04 05 06. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 8am - 6.30pm or Saturday, 9am - 1pm
- Visit the website at: http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk
- Send an email
If the advice you receive from Consumer Direct does not result in a satisfactory outcome then your complaint may be passed back to our Trading Standards Team for further action.
