"Any incident, which may or may not constitute a criminal offence, which is perceived by the victim or any other person, as being motivated by prejudice or hate."

The perception can be that the prejudice or hatred motivation displayed during the incident or crime was due to someone's gender, disability, race, religion or sexual orientation.
You can report a hate crime at any police station or online on the Greater Manchester Police website.
Trafford also has a number of reporting centres where there are non-police staff trained to take your report confidentially.
