Stop and Search
Have you ever been stopped and searched by the police?
Stop and search is regarded as an effective way of preventing and detecting certain types of crime. However, perceived unfairness in the use of stop and search, particularly amongst minority ethnic communities and young people, can reduce trust and confidence in policing.
We are working in partnership with Greater Manchester Police to get the views of residents who have been stopped and searched.
The aim of the feedback is to increase trust and confidence in policing amongst communities. The information gathered will help monitor and improve the way police in Trafford conduct stop and search powers.
