Copy Certificates

How to order a copy certificate

If you would like to apply for a copy certificate for a birth, death or marriage that was registered in Trafford, you can either:

Some of the Trafford indexes of records from 1837 to 2005 are now available to order online. To obtain a certificate by secure credit card transaction please select one of the date ranges below:

Apply by phone

If you wish to apply for copy certificate by telephone and would like to make a credit card or debit card payment please call 0161 912 3026.

Apply by post

If applying by post, please download and complete a the relevant form:

Once you have completed the relevant form, please enclose a cheque for £7 made payable to Trafford Council, and a stamped addressed envelope, and return to:
