How the service works
When someone has died, we can now make it easier for you to inform all Council and Government departments that need to know about the death, with our 'Tell Us Once' service.
Following bereavement, a death must be formally registered with the local Registrar. In addition to registering a death the Registrar will now offer the 'Tell Us Once' service.
With your permission we will inform the relevant Council services that need to know and provide you with the completed forms and letters to send to all other government organisations.
We hope the 'Tell Us Once' service will make things easier for you and take some of the stress away.
This free of charge service enables us to inform the following services about the death on your behalf:
- Council Tax
- Adult Social Services
- Blue Badge
- Children and Young People's Services
- Electoral Register
- Housing and Council Tax Benefit
- Libraries
- Trafford Housing Trust
We will also fill out on your behalf the relevant forms and letters for you to send to the following HM Government services:
