Starting school is a very important stage in the life of your child. Trafford has an excellent selection of schools catering for a wide range of needs. The information below will help guide you through the admissions process.
Information for parents
A child becomes of compulsory school age when he or she reaches the age of 5 and, where parents wish a child to attend school, the child must start school in the term following his of her fifth birthday.

Performance Tables
Performance Tables for primary schools in Trafford are available on the DCSF website.
School Profiles
All maintained schools need to publish a school profile, which is designed for schools to communicate with parents about the school's progress, priorities and performance. Profiles are completed and published online via the DirectGov website.
Appealing against a decision
