Primary School Places
Starting school is a very important stage in the life of your child. Trafford has an excellent selection of schools catering for a wide range of needs. The information presented below will help you select the right school and guide you through the admissions process.
Application should be received by 6th February 2009 at the latest.
Applying online
You can now apply online for Primary School places in Trafford. The system is very easy to use and means that there is no risk of an application being lost in the post.

Primary school admissions booklet 2009
A child becomes of compulsory school age when he or she reaches the age of 5 and, where parents wish a child to attend school, the child must start school in the term following his of her fifth birthday. Finding out about Primary Schools in Trafford
Ofsted Reports - Ofsted reports can be viewed on the Ofsted website or a paper copies can be ordered by telephoning 0700 263 7833.
Performance Tables - Performance Tables (commonly known as league tables) for schools in Trafford and those in other Local Authorities are available from the Department for Education and Skills website or by telephoning 0800 242 322.
School Profiles - All maintained schools need to publish a school profile, which is designed for schools to communicate with parents about the school's progress, priorities and performance. Profiles are completed and published online via the Directgov website
Appeals
Any parent, whose child has not been assessed for grammar school has the right to appeal to an Independant Appeals Panel. The appeals section will help guide you through the process.
