Animal Health and Welfare
Trafford Council, in partnership with other Local Authorities, has a statutory role to provide a number of services related to animal health and welfare, principally:
Our Animal Welfare Officer makes regular checks on premises where both companion and agricultural animals are kept, and liaises with other local authorities and bodies in the North West concerned with the welfare of animals. We work closely with businesses, animal welfare societies and DEFRA and provide advice on matters which fall within our remit.
