New Planning Fees - Effective 6 April 2008

The Government has announced that a new scale of charges is to take effect from 6 April 2008.

All applications received on or after 6 April 2008 will need to have the new fee included for the application to be deemed valid.

1APP - Changes to Planning Application Forms

1APP will change the way you submit planning applications to every authority in England. Learn more about 1APP at the Planning Portal.

In 2005, the government announced the introduction of the National Standard Planning Application Form (1APP) as part of the drive to simplify and sdtreaamline the process for handling applications for planning permission and associated consents. There are a number of expected benefits from 1APP including a simpler, more transparent planning process, familiarisation with just one form for all application types and all Councils and a better chance of submitting a valid planning application.

Timetable for adopting 1APP in Trafford

  • 17 March 2008 - 1APP Paper Forms

From this date, the current Council application forms will be withdrawn from circulation and will be replaced by the 1APP forms.

Applications submitted on the current forms will still be accepted but customers will be encouraged to move across to the 1APP forms.

  • 14 March 2008 - Electronic submissions move to 1APP

Applications submitted to Trafford Council electronically, through the Planning Portal website, will be switched from the current Planning Portal forms to the 1APP forms. After this date, all electronic submissions will all be in the 1APP format.

  • 6 April 2008 - Mandatory use of 1APP

The use of 1APP forms for all types of applications will become mandatory. Any application that is submitted on alternative forms cannot be accepted.
