Activities for Older People
Trafford Active Citizens is attached to the Social Services Department and is a group of people who volunteer a little of their time to complement the work of Trafford Social Workers by offering help for those with an essential social care need. These tasks include befriending, visiting, sitting, shopping and driving, or any practical task which could help an individual enhance their daily living.
We are looking for a variety of people from all background who have skills to share.
- Are you retired?
- Would you like to put some of your leisure time to good use?
- Have you just moved to Trafford?
- Would you like to become involved in its community?
- Are you unemployed?
- Have you a need to use some of your free time without losing any of your benefits?
- Have you children at school?
- Have you a need to be involved outside the home?
- Are you in full time employment?
As a volunteer with TACT you will not be on your own. Evening and weekend assistance is often required.
You will be provided with all the information you need and put in touch with those requiring help. Furthermore, you will not be out of pocket as expenses will be paid.
