Home Library Service

What is the Home Library Service?

The Home Library Service provides a service for those who cannot get to the library.

Who can use the Home Library Service?

  • Anyone living in Trafford who has difficulty getting to the library because of health or mobility problems.
  • Anyone living in Trafford who has difficulty carrying books because of health or mobility problems.

How does the service work?

  • We deliver your chosen books right to your door every three weeks.
  • You will be able to choose the books you want, including large print and talking books.
  • If you prefer we can choose books for you if you give staff an idea of what you like.

Is there a charge?

  • No, our service is absolutely free.

Talking Book Service

What is the Talking Book Service?

The Talking Book Service is a free postal service for those who enjoy books but have difficulty seeing or holding them.

How do I choose titles?

  • Titles can be chosen from the talking book catalogue.
  • We have more than 3,000 titles available for loan and all books are full version.

How do I get my talking books?

  • The cassettes are sent out to you in pouches.
  • When you have finished with the cassettes use the pouch to return them to us via your local post box.
  • No stamps are needed - this is a free service.
