We offer a variety of services for children, from books to story times to rhyme times and Chatterbooks reading groups. There are 14 libraries and a mobile library in Trafford. You can use your library card to borrow books and story tapes at any of these libraries.

Joining the library is easy. You can join by either:

What can I borrow from the library?

There are all sorts of books in a library:

  • story books
  • information books
  • picture books
  • books for babies
  • talking books on cassette and CD

Trafford Libraries also have children's DVDs, music CDs, and toys to borrow. You will need to get your mum, dad or carer to sign a form to give their permission for you to borrow these, and you will have to pay to borrow them.

How long can I keep the items I borrow?

  • You can keep books and talking books for three weeks
  • You can keep DVDs and CDs for one week

Can I get help for my homework in the library?

Yes. There are a number of ways you can find help with your homework:
