Readers' Groups for Children

Chatterbooks are reading clubs for children aged 8 - 12 years; we read and talk about everything to do with books - stories, authors, illustrators, dramas. There are games, activities, gifts and prizes during the sessions and children will have the opportunity to meet and talk to any visiting authors or storytellers.

There are Chatterbooks groups at Altrincham, Coppice Avenue, Hale, Stretford and Woodsend libraries. If you would like to join a Chatterbooks group please contact the library first as there may be a waiting list. Meeting days and times are detailed below:

Coppice Avenue Library - 0161 912 3560

We have two Chatterbooks groups for 7 - 10 year olds:

  • Group 1 - third Thursday of each month from 4.00-4.45pm
  • Group 2 - first Tuesday of each month from 4.00-4.45pm

Davyhulme Library - 0161 912 2880

  • Second Monday of the month 4.15-5.15pm - for 8 to 10 year olds

Stretford Library - 0161 912 5150

  • One Saturday each month from 10.00 - 11.00 am.

Woodsend Library - 0161 912 2919

We have two Chatterbooks groups:

  • Group 1 - second Monday of each month from 4.00-4.45pm
  • Group 2 - fourth Monday of each month from 4.00-4.45pm
