About Toy Libraries

Trafford Libraries have toy libraries based at Coppice Avenue, Davyhulme, and Lostock libraries.

Is there a charge?

There is a charge of 50p per toy. Up to three toys can be borrowed for three weeks on an adult or childminder ticket. Toys may be borrowed on children's tickets if parents give permission.

What is available?

There is a wide variety of toys available including:

  • Transport toys

Delamere Toy and Tape Library

Delamere Toy and Tape Library is a Registered Charity working in partnership with Trafford Council Libraries and Sure Start. The library provides an 'Aladdin's Cave' of toys for all children under eight and anyone with special needs and their families.

Expert staff give advice on the developmental potential of toys for particular people, there is also a support aspect for parents and carers of children with special needs. Professionals working with children and people with special needs are also welcome.

Group meetings

The Link Group - is for under fives and their parents or carers. The group meets every Wednesday during term time from 10am to 12 noon. Children do supervised creative activities while parents get a chance to chat over coffee.

The Rainbow Band - is open to all. Meetings are on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12 noon. There is a small charge, please phone 0161 746 8185 for details.

There is a small charge for materials for each meeting.
