A controlled parking scheme is a street or area where parking is organised in order to help residents park their vehicles. They are provided in areas where vehicles not belonging to residents would otherwise make this difficult.

Most schemes operate during the working day from Monday - Saturday. The times of operation are shown on the signs for drivers entering the controlled parking zone area.

During this period many spaces are reserved for resident permit holders and visitor permit holders with a few provided for visitors to the area who do not have permits.

Outside these hours parking is uncontrolled except on double yellow lines.

As part of the Council's Fees and Charges review for 2012 the annual cost for a resident's permit has been increased to £32.50 from the 1 April 2012. Visitor permit books are increased to £9.50 for 25 daily use cards. Match day visitor cards for use in Zones A and B are increased to £4.

Please note - you will be requested for 2 forms of proof each year on application, 1 to be proof of residency - utility bill dated within the last 3 months and 1 to be proof of vehicle ownership at the property applied for - up to date insurance schedule/certificate showing your name, address and vehicle registration number. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or postal order only at present.

Renewal forms will be posted out at the start of the month prior to the expiry of your permit.
