Next restricted event

27 May 2012 - Soccer Aid: England v The Rest of the World
Match day restrictions will apply between 6pm and 10pm.

As the majority of the roads around Old Trafford Football Stadium are residential, a residents’ permit scheme for residents operates in the area on match days and certain event days at Old Trafford. Please note that permit restrictions also apply at all times on some roads.

Match day restrictions are in force on the day of a match or other restricted event from two hours before, during and for one hour after the end of the event.

Information boards are situated on all routes into the restricted areas and display the dates and times of the next restricted event and are located on the following roads:

  • A56 Davyhulme Road East (NE)
  • A56 Warwick Road (SW)
  • Warwick Road (N) A56
  • Great Stone Road (NW)
  • Talbot Road (NE), near Milton Road
  • Talbot Road (SW), near Gorse Lane

Please note that Blue Badge users are not able to use a Badge to park in permit bays in Trafford unless a valid resident’s or visitor’s permit is displayed.

The Manchester United Disabled Supporters Association (MUDSA) website provides information regarding Disabled parking on match days at Old Trafford.

Illicit match day parking activity

Unfortunately, there have been incidents of drivers being targeted on event days and directed to park on yellow lines and in restricted permit parking bays in the roads surrounding the football stadium and charged a fee to do so. The individuals undertaking such activities are often dressed to suggest they are official Trafford Council employees and may claim verbally to be working for or on behalf of Trafford.

Greater Manchester Police are aware that these activities may occur and will take action to prevent them when observed.

Trafford Council does not allow vehicles to be parked on yellow lines or in permit-only parking bays and do not employ operatives to collect payment for parking on-street. If a vehicle is observed to be parked in contravention of any parking restrictions a penalty charge notice may be issued. Please check for any road markings and restricted signs before leaving your vehicle parked.
