Road Safety - Cycling Proficiency
Cycling on roads requires competence. Safe' cycling training is made available to schoolchildren aged 10 & over (Year 6) via schools within the Borough. Contact the school to check if they particpate in this scheme.
The National Proficiency Test helps to develop observation and manoeuvrability skills, introduces the Highway Code for Young Road Users, teaches the importance of cycle maintenance and hazard awareness, and provides information and advice on being conspicuous and wearing protective headgear.
