National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme
All food businesses within the scope of the scheme will be inspected by our Environmental Health Officers and given a rating based on their compliance with legal requirements.

Food Safety Inspections
Environmental health officers have the right to enter and inspect food premises at all reasonable hours. They do not have to make an appointment and will usually come without notice.
Food Safety Management Systems
All food business operators are required to have an appropriate written food safety management system.
Food Poisoning Investigation
Environmental Health Officers and the Health Protection Agency will investigate cases and outbreaks of food borne diseases to try and find the source and prevent further spread within the community.
