iCAN is a messaging system intended for anybody living in the community who would like to be made aware of the latest cons and scams. Anyone can become a member of iCAN. We want people from across Traffordto join and who are prepared to spread the word in their area.

You can receive information by pre-recorded phone message, text messaging to a mobile phone or email. You can choose one method or all three depending on your preference. For telephone messages there is an option to have the message repeated and select the times of day you wish to be contacted.

Members should use the information to keep themselves protected. We would also like members to tell others such as neighbours, family and friends. Do you know people who live alone and may be vulnerable? These are the kind of people who we particularly want Members to talk to and look out for. The more people join, the more effective we can be at protecting the community from:

• STOP Rogue doorstep traders
• STOP Distraction burglary
• STOP Scams and Cons

Vigilant Members can be the eyes and ears of Trading Standards and have in the past provided vital information that has led to victims being saved money and crooks being caught. From time to time we will also consult you as a Member to seek your views on issues that affect your area.

Membership is free, so if you do want to become a Member of iCAN please fill complete a registration form and return it to the FREEPOST address below. There's no need for a stamp! You will then begin to receive messages by whatever method you have requested.
