Hullard Park became a public park in Victorian times when it was purchased under the Public Health Act of 1895 for the purpose of public walks and relaxation in its pleasure grounds. The Park was formed from land belonging to Hullard Farm. Old Maps referred to Hullard farm as Hullard Hall. The farmhouse was pulled down in 1912 to create new housing.
