Am I too old?

Your age will not pose a problem, providing you will be fit and active throughout the years of your child's childhood.

How long does the adoption process take?

The procedure from application to approval should not take more than eight months.

How long does it take for a child to be placed once my application is approved?

It depends very much on the age, background or particular needs of the child you are looking for.

What accommodation do I need?

You must have room for the child to have their on bedroom.

Do I need to own my own home?

Not at all, your current accommodation just has to be judged suitable for a child.

Do I need a certain income level to adopt?

No, every case is treated individually and you may be eligible for financial support.

Can I still get help and support after a child is placed with me?

Do your checks really need to be so rigorous?

The checks may seem intrusive, but the welfare of children in our care always comes first. This means we have to carry out in-depth checks to ensure your suitability to adopt.

Who makes the decision regarding health issues?

We are guided by a specialist medical adviser on all health issues.
