Note re EIAs
The Council undertakes Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs) to assist with sound decision making and demonstrate that ‘due regard’ has been paid to equality considerations. EIAs help to flag up any potential adverse impacts on equality groups and help us to address these.
EIAs need to run alongside any decision making process, where there may be a potential equality impact on staff or residents of Trafford. All budget proposals will have an Equality Impact Assessment where a potential impact has been identified. EIAs will also take account of relevant information and views gathered via the consultation period and will only be completed at the end of this process, helping to shape the actual decision.
