Council Tax

Council Tax is a locally set tax that is payable on all domestic properties. In most cases there will be one bill per property, whether it is a house, bungalow, flat, maisonette, mobile home or houseboat, and whether it is owned or rented.

Trafford's Council Tax

The 2008/2009 Council Tax rates were agreed at the council meeting on Tuesday 19 February 2008. Council Tax (including the precepts for the Fire and Rescue Service and Police) has increased overall by 5.1%.

The average band council tax, band D, including precepts (except Partington), is £1,209.83. This is the lowest council tax rate in Greater Manchester.
