Making an online application

You can submit and pay for a Planning Application online through the Planning Portal. Electronic copies of plans, documents and documents can be attached.

Using the online form you will only need to submit one digital copy of the form and attachments. The online form will help ensure that your application is completed correctly and will help speed the planning decision process.

How to pay

Online Applications

If you submit your application through the Planning Portal you can also pay online using a credit/debit card. You will receive a receipt from the online payment process to confirm that payment has been received. Online applications can also be paid by cheque which will need to be posted to the address below. Please make the cheque payable to Trafford Council and mark the back of the cheque with the Planning Portal reference number of your application.

Postal Applications

If you submit your application by post you can pay by cheque or cash. Please make the cheque payable to Trafford Council.

Fee Charges

The Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications, Deemed Applications, Requests and Site Visits) (England) Regulations 2012 sets the fee levels for planning applications.

You can calculate the fee of your planning application using the fee calculator available at the planning portal.
