I know it was a pain for some people with roads closed etc but on the whole it was a positive thing for the region with runners coming from all over to take part

It was my first one and the support was amazing, I had friends and family dotted about the course and also saw alot of faces from my past. The nicest thing was complete strangers shouting out your name and cheering you on, especially toward the end during the last 6 miles or so through Carrington, Flixton and Urmston. The bowls of jelly beans and jelly babies were also most welcome

I think the nicer weather (in contrast to 2012) helped but it was a big event for the region and showed it in a positive light on the whole

The green bin hardly gets used.


The scheme started in Manchester quite some time ago and now their grey bins overflow and animals pull the food out over the gardens and pavements.

Perhaps we should stop recycling and just put any waste in any bin till they stop telling us what we need and start listening to what we do need..
