I think they need to retime the journey times now that a number of branch lines are open, does it still take only 28 minutes into Manchester from Navi Road?

We went during the day yesterday and waited 20 minutes for a tram at Navi Road (the Altrincham bound tram was sat at the station and even the driver didn't know why he was being held there as nothing passed in the other direction)

We then had a number of stops between stations to let other trams passed the other way but still made our appointment with a few minutes to spare

It may have been easier to have driven into Manchester at that time of day although I wasn't sure what the parking situation would be like

The family day ticket does also appear to be good value for money

I must be lucky when I use the tram, I rarely have problems. Where in Manchester is it taking 28-minutes to get to? Piccadilly?

Took us a good 30 minutes from Navi to St Peters, I think I must have got 28 minutes from the official "timetables"

We just seemed to stop on a regular basis as if the new spurs/junctions meant there were quite a few passing points en route, similar to between Navi and Timperley where a tram in one direction has to remain stationary while one comes the other way

Still use the tram when I can into town during the day but am a little reticent at night and indeed we must have been on the tram in front of the one where the guy got attacked at Sale Station last month

Same here - I get on at Alty first thing in the morning. Normally takes me 20-25 mins to get to St Peter's.

Don't use it in the evening, we tend to go out in Alty. When we did have a non-child social life and went to Manchester, it was generally very good and very safe.

Guess we've just been lucky, but agree, they need to make some changes to the network as bottlenecks are forming.

It is on the whole, I think you just have to be wary at certain times and steer clear of any potential flashpoints

Likewise we used to go further afield before we had kids, now we rarely go out but if we do it is closer to home and somewhere convenient that we can either get to on foot or drive and leave the car to be collected the following morning

That said I still like to get out in the Northern Quarter when I can and that's where public transport like the Metrolink comes into its own

The line to Droylesden has officially opened today. City fans can now get the tram to games.

I thought they all lived within earshot of the town hall clock

The works around the airport are progressing and there have been some major termporary road alterations to keep the traffic flowing. Must be costing a fair bit as they route along Ringway Road and Shadowmoss and the surrounding area
