Having noted many members post adverts for their particular interest I am offering something similar. This site is presented for anyone who wishes to learn a little about the past of Urmston, Flixton, and Davyhulme.
http://www.urmston.net/urmston_a-z.pdf Any assistance in updates or corrections would be much appreciated. |

I must admit it is an area that I don't know well; but that is excellent. Well done.

Thank you Altfish.
You do need an Adobe Reader to open this and I do wish to point out the pdf. document is updated periodically so anyone keeping a copy should replace it over time. |

Over the last couple of days the Urmston site that hosts the A-Z has been experiencing some server problems. If anyone is having trouble connecting please be patient, I am sure this will be resolved soon.
This has been fixed with normal service resumed. Last edited by Divad; 22 March 2012 at 17:05. Reason: Update |

The version available this the month of May is going to be the last for the summer. I shall be visiting Urmston as of June when I hope to collect some new material to work on.

Anyone who has followed this document will know it is updated periodically. However, the version for August available now will be the last for a while. My home here in Canada is up or sale creating the possibility of my going off line for a considerable time. Many thanks to everyone who has supported this project.

For all the commercials shown on the forum these days I may as well bring my own back into contention.

Does anyone know where this picture depicts in old time Urmston? The clues are: a corner off licence, diamond shaped brickwork inserted in the walls, and c.1900 for a date.
