About Me2 Foster Care
Could you work with vulnerable young people who, at times, may present with challenging behaviour?
Me2 is recruiting foster carers to work in its pioneering programme. We are looking for foster carers who enjoy the company of young people and are motivated to support them, with the guidance of committed and experienced professionals.
Me2 is a specialist fostering team set up by Trafford Council in partnership with Trafford NHS Trust. Me2 complements Trafford's existing fostering service and children's homes.
Me2 follows a successful model, developed in America, which has been supported by the Department for Education and Skills to provide foster care to young people over a period of 9-12 months using a behaviour changing programme.
Me2 works with young people aged between 9 and 17 years. They will be displaying significant and often multiple difficulties linked to experiences in their early lives.
Me2 follows a treatment plan designed individually for each young person with intensive support from foster carers, health, education and children's services. The aim is to bring about:
- Appropriate and positive behaviour
- Improved school attendance and academic skills
- Improved relationships with their birth family and with other young people
- Interest in positive activities (e.g. sports, cultural or artistic)
- A move to a stable long term foster placement, or return to their birth family
