'Sherlock Holmes' Murder Mystery Evening with Afterdark Entertainment

Monday April 23 7pm - 9pm, Urmston Library

Help Holmes and Watson crack the case and be crowned Super Sleuth of the evening. Free tickets available from Urmston Library, 912 2727. There will also be a World Book Night Display, a Sherlock Holmes display and free book give away! Light refreshments available for 50p.

Woodsend Library

The Woodsend Community Group in partnership with the library are restarting the Wintertime talks at Woodsend Library on the 1 Wednesday in the month. Tickets can be obtained at the library. Please see below list of dates and talks:

Readers' Groups for Adults

A number of Readers Groups have been set up in Trafford with a view to promoting an interest in literature. They are informal gatherings of people from all backgrounds who meet on a regular basis to talk about books and to share their enthusiasm for reading.

Each group has a slightly different approach to the content of the meeting and may discuss themes, fiction genres, favourite titles or perhaps a "Book of the Month". In all cases the common thread is the sharing and enjoyment of books.

Partington Library A junior reading group is held on the third Monday of each month 4pm - 5pm
Sale Library Second Monday of each month - 6pm
Stretford Library Fourth Thursday of the month - 5.30pm
Timperley Library First Monday of the month - 2.30 - 3.30pm
Ursmton Library Group one - first Thursday of the month - 2 - 3pm
Group two - last Friday of the month - 6 - 7pm

Readers' Groups for Children

Chatterbooks are reading clubs for children aged 8 - 12 years; we read and talk about everything to do with books - stories, authors, illustrators, dramas. There are games, activities, gifts and prizes during the sessions and children will have the opportunity to meet and talk to any visiting authors or storytellers.

There are Chatterbooks groups at Altrincham, Coppice Avenue, Davyhulme, Sale and Woodsend libraries. If you would like to join a Chatterbooks group please contact the library first as there may be a waiting list. Meeting days and times are detailed below:
