Swedish visitors learn how to get on screen with Let's Go Global

Four budding webcasters from Sweden visited Lets Go Global, Trafford's community internet TV service, in June.

Lets Go Global played host to Kvinnofolkhögskolan, a study centre for women based in Göteborg, Sweden. They were interested to see how Lets Go Global was set up and run so they can set up an internet TV channel of their own to showcase women's creative talent in Sweden.

The four women spent a day at Let's Go Global's studios in Old Trafford and found out from project manager Karen Shannon about creating digital content for broadcast, engaging with communities, knowledge transfer and how the development of web technology is having an impact on people's lives.

They praised Lets Go Global and its work and enjoyed watching some of the digital content produced by young people from the Old Trafford area.

One of the visitors, Eva Warberg, said: "It was really inspiring. It is always great to meet people who have a real understanding of how to use creative technologies as a way of engaging with people and then moving them on to other opportunities, further education or jobs."

Lets Go Global and Kvinnofolkhögskolan will be keeping in touch and sharing each other's creative developments.
