Take your books out the new, easy way

New, easy-to-use equipment is now being installed in Trafford's libraries to help people take out, return and renew their books at the touch of a button or two!

The technology gives time for staff at all libraries to provide extra services and more information for customers.

It's part of a wider project, bringing together staff from libraries and the council's Access Trafford information service into a joined-up, value for money service called Access Trafford.

Each library in turn will be closed for a week while the equipment is being installed. Customers will still be able to visit other nearby libraries and books will be on extended loan for the week. Customers at each library are being informed about the arrangements.

In September, Sale Waterside will remain open for council enquiries: the library section of the building will not be available.

The timetable for installation is:

  • 28 July - Greatstone and Bowfell
  • 4 August - Partington
  • 11 August - Hale
  • 18 August - Old Trafford
  • 25 August - Lostock
  • 1 September - Stretford
  • 15 September - Davyhulme
  • 22 September - Sale Waterside - library and local studies only
  • 6 October - Timperley
  • 20 October - Urmston
  • 27 October - Altrincham
