Judges from North West in Bloom have visited Altrincham town centre and the surrounding neighbourhoods, which have been entered into the 'large town' category.

They also visited green spaces including Timperley Moat, Broomwood Park and Woodstock Park as part of the 'it's your neighbourhood' awards via local charity G-Force, South Trafford Archaeological Group and Friends of Woodstock Park.

Residents from The Downs, New St and Wellington Place were keen for the judges to see the work they had done in their own gardens as well as examples of their brilliant local 'guerilla gardening'.

The Altrincham in Bloom committee working in partnership with other local community groups, businesses, the Trafford Partnership and Trafford Council, entered the competition to highlight recent environmental and public realm improvements.

The results of the competition will be announced in the autumn.
