Trafford Council will continue to support the borough's nine town and district centres during the festive period with a £54,000 investment in Christmas lights.
Working closely with traders, the council aims to brighten up Trafford during one of the busiest times of the trading year for the benefit of local businesses and communities.
The council is aiming to offer new, imaginative and creative schemes for each area within the budget available. In future years, there is the option of rotating some schemes around the borough to keep displays fresh and interesting.
Leader of Trafford Council, Cllr Matt Colledge, said: "The council is committed to supporting our local businesses and communities and I am delighted that we are once again able to invest in Christmas lights for our town and district centres.
"Christmas lights not only help to bring the festive spirit into our communities, they also create an inviting atmosphere which encourages people to come out and shop, bringing further benefits for local businesses. I look forward to seeing these displays coming to life in the run up to Christmas."
