Trafford's Mayor Mrs Patricia Young was joined by local organisations and residents at the launch of My Choice Marketplace last week at Sale Waterside Arts Centre.

My Choice Marketplace is an independent consortium of organisations working under shared principles, developed in collaboration with Trafford Council to support people living independently. This is part of the council's transformation of social care which is seeing local people benefit from tailored personal support provided at a time and in a way they need and deserve.

By sharing best practice and working more closely together, service providers can ensure not only high quality, but consistent services remain available.

Executive Councillor Michael Young said the launch event was a huge success and reinforced the council's on-going commitment to developing the best possible social care support.

"The council is focussed on ensuring it works closely with partners and others to give the most vulnerable members of our communities the support and help they need to remain living independently.

"This commitment has seen many innovative, flexible services introduced in the past few years, ensuring greater choice and variety of support is available.

"The launch gave service providers the chance to promote individual services and network with others supporting vulnerable adults. Local people also came along to find out about the varied support available for people with disabilities and older people, including support from care agencies and leisure providers.
