Trafford residents are invited to remember our war heroes at services marking Remembrance Sunday at the borough's cenotaphs and memorials. The services will be even more poignant, as Remembrance Sunday this year falls on 11 November.
The services are as follows:
Altrincham, Garden of Remembrance, Dunham Road, at 10.55am, followed by a small Service of Remembrance at the site of the Chapel Street commemorative plaque, Regent Road, to honour those people of Chapel Street who served and lost their lives in the Great War. The service will commence at noon if people wish to attend.
Bowdon
Bowdon Parish Church, Stamford Road, Altrincham, Cheshire WA14 2TR at 10.45am.
Hale
Hale War Memorial, Broomfield Lane, Hale. Those attending should assemble at Hale Library at 2.45pm, for the procession which starts at 2.55pm. This will be followed by a service at Hale War Memorial at 3.15pm.
Hale Barns
All Saint's Parish Church, All Saints Hale Barns with Ringway Parish Church, Hale Road, Hale Barns, Altrincham, Cheshire, WA15 8ST and Hale Barns War Memorial. The church service starts at 10am, followed by a memorial service at 10.55am.
Partington
People are invited to meet at Partington Working Men's Club, Central Road at 10am. The service will be held at the Cenotaph on Warburton Lane, at 11am.
Sale
Sale Cenotaph. There will be a short procession from Sale Masonic Hall to the Cenotaph. The parade will assemble at 10.50am, process to the Cenotaph where the service will start at 10.55am.
Stretford
Stretford Cenotaph, Chester Road. The procession will arrive at 10.50am and the service will start at 10.55am.
Urmston
Davyhulme Memorial, Davyhulme Circle. Residents wanting to join the parade should assemble at 10.20am on the ground floor of Eden Square car park. The procession will leave at 10.35am from Urmston Library to Crofts Bank Road and Davyhulme Memorial, with the service starting at 10.55am.
