Christmas celebrations are coming to Trafford with some exciting Christmas lights switch on events being planned right across the Borough. Here are the dates for your diary and some of the latest information.
Altrincham, Thursday 22 November, Stamford Quarter, time to be confirmed. Altrincham Forward is coordinating the town centre's festive events programme and full details will be announced in early November. If you are holding an event, send the details to altrincham.forward@trafford.gov.uk
Urmston, Friday 23 November, 5.30pm-8.30pm (lights switch on at 6.30pm), Christmas tree will stand on the corner of Queen's Road/Church Road.
Sale, Saturday 24 November, 11am-4.30pm (activities in the town and lights switch on at 3.30pm), The Square, Sale Town Centre.
Partington, Friday 7 December, evening event (time to be confirmed), town centre
Ashton on Mersey, Saturday 8 December, entertainment will take place between 10am and 4pm in the village centre. Plans include Stretford Band and choirs from Park Road School and Wellfield Infant and Juniors. Other local schools will be taking part in a shop window competition and there will be lots of stalls and Christmas treats.
While there is no specific lights switch-on event planned for Stretford, there will be festive events taking place at Stretford Mall on the run up to Christmas including Santa's Grotto from 17 November-24 December and the popular Manchester Elf Championship on Saturday 8 December.
