Altrincham Forward has been successful in its bid to become a Town Team Partner, securing £10,000 and a package of support from the Association of Town Centre Management. This funding will help contribute to Altrincham Forward's plans for improved town centre marketing, in particular the development of a year round programme of events.

Chair of Altrincham Forward and Leader of Trafford Council, Cllr Matt Colledge, said: "This announcement is great news for Altrincham as it will ensure we can make real progress in developing a series of events to attract more local people and visitors to the town centre, increasing footfall and creating a more vibrant space.

"This is key to supporting the Altrincham Action Plan, which is all about revitalising the town and giving people more reasons to shop locally, to use their town centre businesses and enjoy the attractions on offer."

Town Team Partners can access, through the Association of Town Centre Management, examples of best practice and shared learning from retail experts and other town teams to support them in the work they are carrying out.

Local MP Graham Brady supported the bid that was made by Altrincham Forward. He said: "This was a strong bid by Altrincham Forward which I was very happy to promote. I know that both the funds and the package of support will be used to make a positive contribution to the revitalisation of the town centre."
