Trafford Council has been awarded three out of four stars in a national survey of local authority websites.

The rating was announced in the 13th annual 'Better Connected' report produced by the Society of IT Managers (SOCITM).

The purpose of Better connected is to identify good practice in the development of local authority websites based on extensive evidence-based research. To do this, a team of SOCITM reviewers carry out a detailed programme of surveys and tests to identify the level of usability, usefulness of content and accessibility of each Council website. This is also supplemented by six shorter surveys based on specific topics.

Our website was listed as good practice for:

• Our innovative iPhone application
• The number of online transactions we offer our customers
• Our transparency as an organisation
