ROB MCLOUGHLIN

Rob McLoughlin is a multi-award-winning broadcaster, producer, executive and creator.

He is best known as the presenter of political, current affairs and election programmes on ITV Granada. He won the Scoop of the Year Award in the 02 Media Awards in 2015 for a special edition of an ITV political series. In the same year he was appointed an OBE in the New Year’s Honours for Services to Broadcasting.

Rob hosted the first Weekend Breakfast programme on BBC Radio Five Live. He was an investigator on the BAFTA winning World in Action and has broken exclusives across ITN, ITV, Channel 4 and the press. He has made programmes for all the major UK broadcasters including BBC TV and Channel 4; Discovery Europe and channels abroad.

He is a former Board Director of Granada TV, Advisor to Granada/Granada Group and later ITV plc. He has led major charitable projects which have raised millions for great causes; united two leading orchestras (Hallé and RLPO) in major radio and TV broadcasts and brought together BBC TV and Radio, commercial radio and ITV in unique social projects.

Rob founded the multi-disciplined and multi-international media group Hasgrove plc which became the first quoted media company in the North West when it floated in 2006. It increased shareholder value by 457% within a year of flotation and turned around AMAZE to become one of Europe’s leading digital marketing agencies. He has advised companies and organisations across the UK, Europe and the USA on change management, communications and regulatory issues. He recently launched a major initiative on Higher Education and the University Sector in the North of England with The Telegraph Media Group.

He is in demand as a Conference Host and Facilitator (presenting events in the UK and Europe). In the 2015 New Year Honours List he was appointed an OBE, presented by HRH Duke of Cambridge, Prince William.
