Children's Centres

Children's centres provide a variety of activities to identify, reach and help the families in greatest need of support. Their services are available to you from pregnancy right through to when your child finishes primary school. They work together with different support agencies to offer a range of services to meet you and your child’s needs. You can get professional advice on health and family matters, learn about training and job opportunities, child development and parenting skills or just socialise with other people.

What’s on at my local children’s centre?

Each children’s centre has its own programme of activities which changes each term. Here is an example of some of the activities on offer:

  • Diet, exercise and healthy living support and advice
  • Information and advice on employment opportunities, childcare and training
  • Programs for parents to develop skills to deal with everyday behaviour
  • Family support offering individual support for families in their home or in the centre

How do I register my child?
