Early years and childcare training courses
We offer Early Years and Childcare training courses to Early Years Foundation stage, Childcare and Play Practitioners.
These courses have been designed to give clear information to practitioners working with children and young people from birth to the age of 19.
The primary aim is to enable practitioners to meet required standards expected by law and to prepare settings for registration and inspection by Ofsted. It is also designed to enhance career and professional development opportunities to improve outcomes for children.
Am I eligible to attend Early Years and Childcare training?
Our courses are open to:
- All Early Years Foundation Stage, Childcare and Play practitioners who work in Trafford
- All Early Years Foundation Stage, Childcare and Play practitioners who work in other Local Authorities, subject to an additional charge
- Practitioners who work with children and young people in childcare settings such as nannies, youth teams, sports coaches, leisure teams, including those who are listed on Ofsted voluntary register
Providers are asked to pay a subscription fee which will run annually from July to July. The subscription fee payable is charged at £20 per person.
The subscription will allow individuals to access face to face courses and e-learning.

Early Years and Childcare Training Content
The courses detailed within the training programme are linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Every Child Matters (ECM) outcomes, Key Elements of Effective Practice (KEEP) and the Common Core standards.
Therefore, you can see what training is available depending on the area in which you wish to strengthen your knowledge and skills.
How to book onto a course
Face to face training courses are available at an additional cost, information on these can be found on the course page in the learning and development programme.
To attend any of the courses, please ensure you have signed up to our Membership Scheme. Once you have signed up to membership you will receive a login to book training online through Trafford Early Years Training.
