How to spend early years pupil premium

Early years providers have to use this extra funding to improve the quality of education for disadvantaged children. You will need to demonstrate to Ofsted how you have spent the money, how it has benefited your setting and which children were eligible for the funding.

Ofsted inspections will report on whether providers spend their early years pupil premium (EYPP) funding effectively.

If you have funded children at your setting who are eligible for EYPP, it is important to think about how best to spend the additional funding and which options are most relevant for you. EYPP needs to be spent to meet the individual needs of your children, their families and your setting.

It may be helpful to use a format that will support your thinking. You can find a range of possible formats you might find useful on the early education website. These are starting points and can be adapted by you to suit your needs.
