Lacy Street Site - Public Consultation

For the latest consultation on the proposed development of Lacy Street please visit the Refreshed Stretford Masterplan consultation page.

Trafford Council approved the Stretford Town Centre Masterplan in January 2014. The Masterplan provides a bold vision for delivering transformational change to Stretford Town Centre and represents a significant step forward in setting out a route to securing a sustainable economic future for the town centre. It provides a framework for delivering the successful regeneration of Stretford Town Centre over the next 10 to 15 years.

The Masterplan identified the Lacy Street site as providing a potential catalyst for the wider delivery of regeneration in Stretford. The site comprises the surface car park, Royal Mail Sorting Office and the Probation Office site. It is identified for future mixed development incorporating a hotel with ground floor food operator, residential, and a café/bar unit.

The Council has undertaken some initial feasibility work to better understand what could be delivered on this site and prepared a proposed option. An image of the proposed option for the site can be viewed here.

The Council is inviting initial comments on the emerging proposals between 13 March and 10 April 2015. Comments can be submitted in writing to Trafford Council, Economic Growth, Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford, M32 0TH or by email to
