Cooling tower notification

Registering with us

All non-domestic premises where cooling towers and evaporative condensers are situated must register with us under The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992.

The primary purpose of this is to identify potential areas that could give rise to spread of infectious disease for example legionella. And to ensure preventative measures are taken to eliminate the risk of such infection arising to employees and the public.

You must notify us of any changes to the notification information within one month of the change, in writing.

If the device ceases to be a notifiable device you must notify us in writing as soon as possible.

Consumer complaints

We would always advise that in the event of a complaint the first contact is made with the service provider by you - preferably in the form a letter (with proof of delivery). If that has not worked, if you are located in the UK, Advice Guide will give you advice or you can contact us directly. From outside the UK contact the UK European Consumer Centre.
