Recreational Cycle Rides

Trafford is benefiting from a cross-Greater Manchester partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and British Cycling to increase the level of recreational cycling across the city-region.

The programme consists of four distinct offers:

Sky Rides

Big, fun events which take over a town or city centre so lots of cyclists of all ages and abilities can ride safely together on a traffic-free route. They’re a great day-out for families, with loads to do both on and off a bike.

Sky Ride Local

Free guided rides led by British Cycling trained Ride Leaders. With three different levels (easygoing, steady and challenging), there’s something for everyone - – whether you’re building your confidence or looking to stretch your legs on a cycling challenge.

Breeze

The biggest programme to date aimed at getting more women into riding bikes for fun. The goal is to help thousands more women feel confident and comfortable about going on a ride. Breeze rides follow a similar format to Sky Ride Local rides, but are for women only.

Ride Social

Is about regularly connecting people to have fun on a ride and is Britain’s biggest network of cyclists. This is a perfect forum for meeting like-minded riders, creating groups and organising your own rides
