Consultation begins on Trafford's draft Economic and Housing Growth Framework

A consultation is being launched on Trafford's draft Economic and Housing Growth Framework. The Framework, prepared on behalf of Trafford Council, sets the strategic priorities for growth in the borough.

All interested parties are being encouraged to give their comments and views on the draft, between now and 17 March 2017.

The Framework has been developed after extensive consultation with key stakeholders, including the Trafford Economic Partnership and the Strategic Housing Partnership. It identifies the work needed to ensure the Council maximises economic and housing growth across the Borough. This work links into not only the Council’s Corporate Objectives, but the Greater Manchester growth and public sector reform objectives set out in the Greater Manchester Strategy.

Trafford’s Executive Member for Economic Growth, Environment and Infrastructure, Cllr John Reilly said: “The Council is committed to ensuring that Trafford continues to be Greater Manchester’s economic powerhouse, and to supporting both current Trafford businesses to thrive, and also attract new investment. We know that as an attractive, prosperous and welcoming borough, there will always be high demand for different types of housing across the Borough, so we also want to ensure the right mix of housing now and in the future. This is why it is imperative that we plan now for our future. Your views on the draft Framework documents will help us achieve that.”
