An open evening to showcase job roles available within Trafford’s health and social care services will be held on Thursday 13 July.
The event, at Trafford Town Hall from 6-8pm, will give prospective employees the chance to learn more about the health and social care teams that play a vital role in improving the lives of local people.
These include: community nurses working with both adults and children; advanced health practitioners such as occupational therapists and physiotherapists; and social workers for adults and children’s services.
Current vacancies, which include posts for qualified and unqualified staff ranging from NHS Band 2 – 8a and Council Band 7-12, will be advertised. If the right candidates come along on the night, they will be invited to interview or given the opportunity to sign up for flexible shift working.
The open evening is being held by Trafford Council and Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, the organisations that jointly deliver health and social care services in the borough.
Diane Eaton, Director of Integrated Services, said: “We have some great opportunities for compassionate and hardworking people to join our Trafford team and work with us to help local people to live well.
“Our health and social care services have been leading the way for some time and we’re one of the first areas to offer truly all age integrated care to the benefit of Trafford residents. Our social workers, community nurses, health visitors, school nurses, physiotherapists, and many more, all work really closely together, often with partner organisations, to ensure services are high quality, safe and effective.
“I’ve been working in Trafford for three years now and I love how vibrant and diverse the borough is. Being so close to Manchester, the area is home to many businesses, excellent schools, great shopping centres, iconic sporting venues, and quick and easy transport links to the city centre – it’s a great place to work.”
Executive Member for Health and wellbeing, Cllr John Lamb, said: “These are really important appointments for the council and Pennine Care and are integral to the future of how we operate as an integrated service. These appointments are on the very frontline of our services and we are looking for high-quality candidates with a positive attitude and an eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment. We have a diverse community in Trafford and ambitious to improve outcomes for our communities which means that our staff get a great amount of variation and scope in their roles.”
The open evening will include information stalls on a range of professions, with staff on hand to chat, give advice and answer questions.
There will also be details of the employee benefits on offer through Trafford Council and Pennine Care, such as comprehensive training packages and development opportunities, staff health and wellbeing schemes, flexible working arrangements, and discounts in local leisure facilities, shops and restaurants.

The open evening will be followed by a fashion show and clothes sale with proceeds being donated to the Macmillan Wellbeing Centre in Trafford and the Manchester Emergency Fund.
