Residents are being invited to let the Council know what they think about its 'once in a generation' plans to regenerate Stretford.
A ten-week long consultation and engagement process, called ‘Your Say On Stretford’ has now started (10th October), and marks the beginning of an open conversation with the community on the Council’s Refreshed Stretford Masterplan.
There will be public engagement events regarding the proposals with a main aim of gathering views and answering any questions.
The first will be at Stretford Public Hall on 2 November, 7.30-9.30pm.

People will also be offered the chance give their opinions via an online survey. It will be available at www.trafford.gov.uk/stretfordmasterplan until the consultation ends on 19th December 2017. The Masterplan aims to create jobs, bring people into the town centre and enhance the local economy by approximately £26 million per year.
As well as feedback on plans for Stretford Town Centre, the Council is keen to hear people’s thoughts and ideas on plans to open a new higher education facility. The University Academy 92(UA92) is proposed to be located on the Kellogg’s headquarters site on Talbot Road in partnership with Lancaster University, the Class of ’92 and Microsoft.
Also included in the consultation are: proposals to deliver high-quality student accommodation on the Lacy Street site; how best to revive the Essoldo building; plus the vision for a new leisure centre for Stretford, and investment in Turn Moss.
A summary of the proposals will be on display for people to view and feedback on at Stretford Mall, Stretford Library, Stretford Leisure Centre and Trafford Town Hall from 16th October. The complete plan can be found on the Council website.
The Council will consider all comments and use them to inform any changes before delivering the Masterplan back to the Executive for final approval in January 2018.
